If there is one Harley Davidson motorcycle that would personify the classic styling, large displacement, and the true spirit of the American heavy cruiser, it would be the Road King Classic.

The bike shares much in common with others in the touring line and with the Road King in particular. Of particular note are the full size, classic fenders, the full-length floorboards for both riders, oversized, 6-gallon gas tank, and classic two-up seat.

The Road King Classic is one of the largest motorcycles in the entire Harley lineup and this power cruiser is propelled by the H-D 96 cubic-inch Twin Cam V-Twin engine coupled to a 6-speed transmission. New for 2009 is an isolated drive system, redesigned frame, and front and rear suspension.

Notable exterior features include classic whitewall tires, Lexan removable windshield, 2-1-2 exhaust system, and leather wrapped hard saddlebags. Available in 9 colors and shown here in Deep Tourquise/Antique White.

The Electra Glide Standard is still one of the mot popular Harley Davidson touring models sold today. Created with the full intention of properly balancing comfort, style, and touring performance, these three characteristics are flawlessly integrated into the 2009 model.

As with the other members of the the Electra Glide family, this model gets a redesigned frame that is designed to increase strength, reduce vibration, and enhance overall ride quality. The 96 cubic-inch engine features a new isolated drive system and is rubber-mounted to the high-tech backbone. While it is still air-cooled, the motor is fed with electronic fuel injection, has a touring-tuned 6-speed transmission, and has a new two-one-two exhaust system.

Aside from the “Bat Wing” fork mounted fairing, the bike includes exterior features such as injection-molded GTX saddlebags, one-piece two-u classic seat, full length adjustable footboards, and stainless steel touring handlebars. An optional sidecar is also available on the Electra Glide Standard. Only available in 3 color choices and shown here in Flame Blue Pearl.

The Street Glide is one of the bikes that is quickly identified by the public at large as a Harley Davidson and in 2009 it’s been recast better than ever.

The major upgrade was the completely redesigned frame which is both stronger and offers superior ride quality. A new front fork and rear shocks complement the frame overhaul and these three points combined were meant to provide a better touring experience for long-distance riders.

Powertrain components remain classic with the 96 cubic-inch, twin cam air-cooled V-Twin engine still throwing 92.6 ft-lbs of torque through the 6-speed transmission and isolated drive system in order to get you where you want to go.

Exterior features include new cast aluminum wheels wrapped with Dunlop tires. Also equipped with a 2-1-2 exhaust system, one-piece, two-up classic seat, and large 6-gallon gas tank which helps cut down on fill-up interruptions.

Of course the bike still has it’s trademarked “Bat Wing” fork-mounted fairing, injection-molded GTX saddlebags, Harman/Kardon advanced audio system. Available in 10 color combinations and shown here in Vivid Black.

In an effort to enhance an already proven design, Harley Davidson revisited their Road King in 2009 and made a number of changes, some small, some large.

The most significant difference is the redesigned frame which Harley engineers feel is stronger, more durable, and enhances the overall ride experience of this touring motorcycle.

The Road King is still powered by the 96 cubic-inch air-cooled V-Twin coupled to a 6-speed transmission. Electronic fuel injection come standard in an effort to increase fuel efficiency and performance. New front forks and rear shocks were integrated to better handle road conditions and the the bike’s wheels get upgraded to cast aluminum with Dunlop tires.

On the outside, the unique styling setup includes a tank-mounted electronic speedometer/odometer combo with an integrated clock. The traditional straight-up Road Glide windshield remains unchanged as does the iconic 5-light headlamp assembly. The Road King comes in six color choices and is shown here in White Gold/Pewter Pearl.

For the 2009 production year, Harley Davidson decided to redesign the frame of their Electra Glide Classic Touring motorcycle line. The bike got upgraded cast aluminum wheels with Dunlop tires as well.

This model was of course built with a focus on comfort with an eye on long cross-country rides. It weighs in at over 800 lbs and to power that much steel down the highway the designers matched a 96 cubic-inch V-Twin engine with a new isolated drive system. To handle acceleration the motor produces 92.6 ft-lbs of torque and fuel injection comes standard so even this bike gets a full 54 mpg on the highway.

Exterior styling queues include a 2-into-1-into-2 exhaust sytem and a “Bat Wing”, fork-mounted fairing. The Harley Davidson paint factory makes this motorcycle available in 7 color schemes and shown here in Pewter Pearl.
